FAQ

Before Treatment

If I have worn glasses for a long period of time and the eyeballs become deformed, can this still be improved?

The shape of the eyeball has changed and it cannot be recovered, but we can prevent the eyeball from deforming further and restore the naked vision.

How do you recover from myopia in SLM Visioncare?

Myopia is mainly caused by eye muscle spasm. In SLM Visioncare, we apply magnetic field oscillation which can activate eye cells significantly. Our methodology is based on traditional acupuncture, applying magnetic field oscillation to activate the eye cell and myopia-related meridians: promoting blood circulation, activating cells, and eliminating eye fatigue. We use pure physiotherapy in improving your eyesight.

Will SLM Visioncare’s treatment work 100% of the time?

Both high and mild myopia can be treated, however the duration of the treatment will vary. The success rate will be lower with the older the patient, and the higher his/her myopia.

What is my first course of action when I realize my child has myopia?

When children are first diagnosed as myopic, we should not simply put on glasses on them. The first 3 years is a “golden window” for children to fully regain their eyesight through physiotherapy, habits and lifestyle adjustment.

Will I see improvement after the first trial of physiotherapy?

After the first trial, vision for most children will undeniably increase. The range of improvement will depend on the individual’s physical condition. Once you have understood the cause of myopia and the principle of our physiotherapy, you will know why there is improvement after one session of therapy.

My doctor said that true myopia can't be cured?

The reason that the doctor says true myopia can't be cured is because myopia is not a disease and is not included in medical scope, so the doctor can only help in correcting your vision but can't help in recovering your vision. The child's true myopia is caused by excessive growth of the eye axis relative to his age, but it does not reach the normal length at adulthood. So, as long as the ciliary muscle spasm that causes myopia is resolved, the eye axis can develop normally and will no longer be elongated.

During Treatment

Can I still wear glasses during physiotherapy?

During the physiotherapy process, in order to aid in the stability and speed of physiotherapy, we discourage using glasses. This is because glasses are just an artificial focal aid (ie, it just pulls the object closer to the visible distance), and it locks the vision. The focal length, which in turn affects the physiotherapy situation, should be worn as little as possible in addition to safety.

Why should the vision be tested from 5 meters?

Humans are designed to be far-sighted. Light entering from 5 meters and above does not need to be adjusted or relaxed as it falls on the retina accurately. When light within 5 meters enters the eyeball, it has to be adjusted and refracted so that it can be clearly imaged onto the retina.

What should I do if I stay in a certain stage for a long time?

Don’t worry if it seems you are stagnant at a stage for a long time, this is very normal. If you want to overcome this stage earlier, you must maintain good attitude and habits, face actively, do more eye movements, and look out in the distance more often so that you can break through this stage very quickly.

Why does it take time to recover?

Myopia is not formed in a short period of time. It is caused by long-term bad habits. Although our recovery period looks long, it is shorter compared to the time it takes to form myopia. It is not only for helping children to pick up glasses but also in helping children to get rid of bad eye habits, to develop good eye habits and eye care awareness. All these are very important. However, this will take time.

How is manual optometry more accurate than computer optometry?

Manual optometry measures vision with the naked eye. It is more objective and accurate to see it as a standard. On the other hand, computer optometry is based on measuring the distance of the eye axis to convert myopia, which is convenient, but not objective. Therefore, often because of the flexibility of computer instrument operation or the technical proficiency of optometry personnel, it will cause subjective factors to deviate. This results in a large distance between the optometry, which can prove artificial optometry, although it is troublesome and time consuming, but the optometry data is indeed the most accurate.

How much progress will each treatment have?

The situation of progress is closely related to personal physique, the depth of myopia, the length of myopia and the cooperation in the center. Therefore, the progress situation varies with each person's conditions and cooperate.

After Treatment

After myopia treatment, can I really successfully treat my vision to normal vision?

Yes of course, however those with high myopia, it will depend on individual fit and age. The time will be extended and the success rate of physiotherapy will vary with age and degree.

Can my eye be treated with surgery?

If it is a myopia correction surgery that has been done in the near future, it is impossible to do physiotherapy because the eyeball shape has changed. If the time has been more than 2 years, the effect of physiotherapy will be worse. If you have undergone surgery because of eye disease, you must first treat the disease in the hospital before doing Physiotherapy.

If you have been cured to normal vision, do you still have to do eye movements?

Of course. For normal eyes, if you don't care, you will have myopia. So in order to maintain your eyes and prevent myopia or myopia from worsening, eye movements must be done, and they need to be well-developed. Good lifestyle habits, develop appropriate reading habits and balance nutrition. The three together are necessary to maintain your normal eyesight

Will it rebound?

No. As long as the treatment is done regularly, all the good habits and eye exercises are incorporated, this effect should last a lifetime.

Must I do anything after the treatment?

Yes. Please follow the advice our experienced consultants have given and make the appropriate lifestyle changes. Also, daily eye exercises are very important, do not forget to make them part of your routine.

Although some children recover well in the early stage, but why do they maintain and not improve at the later stage?

This is a normal situation as eye muscle spasm is still not serious at the early stage and there is no improvement at the later stage may due to the seriousness of eye muscle spasm, so it will be more difficult and takes a longer time to adjust. However, he or she will be able to break through this stage soon in cooperate with our treatment.
